Moo-Mania - Key(s)/Lock(s)

'Love Never Fails'

I'm pleased to say that I'm really beginning to feel well again!  Finally!  Long may it last!

I've had a lovely creative morning working on a project that I hope to get published (sorry I can't share that one with you yet) and since I'm in 'the zone' I thought I'd stay put in the 'studio' and keep playing.  I find online challenges can help give me focus when I don't know what to do next, so I popped over to Moo-Mania and was pleased to see that their current theme is - Key(s)/Lock(s).  I have the perfect Darkroom Door stamp set for a theme like that!  It's called, 'Doors'.  The collage image is from Darkroom Door too!

I think one of the main 'keys' to living a happy and content life is 'love'.  If we can push away our selfishness and love one another, it seems to work wonders!  Maybe it's a simplistic view of life, but it's the one I'll try and stick to today!

Making a Moo can be a little challenging, what with the surface size only being 28mm x 70mm.  I find I need to get my fine motor-skills up and running to do the fiddly bits, which also helps me focus.  The great thing about Moos is that they are often completed in a relatively short amount of time.  If you've never made one, I'd recommend having-a-go... it just might help to blow out the cobwebs if you don't know what to do next!

Peace

With only two days left 'til Christmas, it could be easy to find yourself in a state of panic over everything that is still left to do!  I procrastinated for most of the day and still haven't got to the gift wrapping, tag making (the list could go on and on)... but I did manage to make this little moo tonight (papers & stamps are by Kaiser Craft; sentiment is ARTchix) and as I reflect on the message it brings, 'peace'... I'm reminded what Christmas is all about - Jesus, the Saviour.  He brings peace that is beyond all understanding!

Peace be with you!

Moo-Mania - Christmas

I've been attempting to create off and on all day and I have to tell you it was a struggle.  Nothing was coming together.  I went off and had a little nap and when I came back to the 'studio' I remembered that I had stumbled upon a challenge site today, Moo- Mania.  I checked out their latest theme, which is 'Christmas' and had a little play (I'm on a time limit as we're heading out for dinner shortly).  I haven't made a 'moo' for quite some time - it was so much fun!  They're pretty small (1 1/8" x 2 3/4"), so generally they come together quickly!

How do you overcome artist block?  Any great tips would be greatly appreciated!

For You

For You (Moo)

Yesterday I had to tidy up before I got started on some ATC's for a swap I'm participating in this month.  These bits were still lying around after The Play Date Cafe Challenge #80, so I put together this little moo using up the scraps... it took me much longer than I thought it would, but I just couldn't throw these tiny bits away!

I was also thrilled to see that I made The Fab 4 at The Play Date Cafe with my Treasure Bag :)  As seen in the post below.

Purple - Theme Thursday

Here's a 'purple' moo for Theme Thursday's challenge this week. The gorgeous image is from ARTchix - as is the sweet little velvet leaf. And there's little snippets of lace, tulle, velvet ribbon, fabric, flower, rhinestone, vintage dictionary and text.

I hope you have a lovely weekend. I'm off treasure hunting in another town :)

April in Paris

'Eiffel Tower'

As mentioned in a previous post I've had the thrill of discovering one of my 'Just Say Moo' samples on the cover of The Stampers' Sampler. I thought I'd post some close-ups of this and the other two Moo's I submitted for this challenge at Stampington.

All the gorgeous rubber is from Oxford Impressions 'April in Paris' plate.

MAMOT - Home Is Where The Heart Is.

It's been too long since I've made a Moo. I find it quite a challenge when using such a small surface. This week's theme at Make A Moo Or Two, 'Home is Where the Heart is', rings true to me. I'm loving being on holidays and having sooooo much more time at home - absolute bliss!!!

This moo has been created using the Paperbag Studios image 'Home'. I've been inking up my favourite Papberbag Studios stamps lately for the 'Stampers Appreciation Promotion'.

'The Key'
I made this piece yesterday for a monthly ATC swap. I've used the following Paperbag Studio images: Quasi, Holed Punch, Serie C and 1*2*3.

Well I'm not really going to be home much today, I'm out for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

MAMOT - Buildings and Wednesday Stamper - Lace

Peace

Here's my contribution to Wednesday Stamper and Make A Moo Or Two's challenges this week. The theme at WS is 'Lace' and at MAMOT it's 'Buildings'. I was finding it a little hard to find a stamp with a building small enough to fit on a Moo... but this one is perfect! It may be a little hard to make out, but there is a church stained glass window in the background. The stamp is by Inkadinado. I've also used some patterned paper scraps, including some vintage sheet music. Image is ARTchix Studio, word is Collections, along with a sweet pink button and a slither of lace (left over from a wedding card I made yesterday).

Wheels - MAMOT

Wheels is the current theme at Make A Moo Or Two. The tricycle is by Lucy's Stamps and I've also used part of an image by Oxford Impressions (Country Girl), then I've used an odd assortment of itty-bitty scraps - I can't waste anything it seems ;D

We can take 'wheels' for granted, as I discovered on the weekend, when my friend Michelle's car died in the middle of a dual highway, between two islands!!! We were on our way home from the big smoke, after having a lovely visit with the Roebucks. Anyway, to cut a long story short, the car stopped right in front of a petrol station aptly named Yule Do!!! We both firmly believe that the Lord was looking after us, as we could have broken down in a much more remote part of the highway, where we had no mobile reception. Michelle's husband answered our distress call and in the end we made it home safe and sound (thanks Trent).

Give me pedal power anyday... ah yes, I am joking!

Schooldays MAMOT

'Star Pupil'

The theme this week at Make a Moo or Two is 'Schooldays'. Not quite what I planned to be thinking about over the weekend! Mind you my 'schooldays' have been very pleasant this term! I'm working with a wonderful bunch of kids!

All rubber is Oxford Impressions. Nothing but paper, ink and stamps on this moo - bit of a change for me!

Brown/Beige/Cream

Here is the result of having some fun playing around with brown/beige/cream for the Make a Moo or Two challenge this week. The image is ARTchix. Brown seems to be the colour of the day for me... I'm seriously considering the purchase of a new lounge today and it's chocolate brown. All I can think about are the quilts I'd love to make to go with it!!!

Make A Moo Or Two & ATC Swaps

I've finally managed to complete an online challenge... it's been a while since my last one. I've been working on some ATC's for a swap with a beachcomber theme and made this Moo at the same time for MAMOT's theme Beach and Sea. The image is ARTchix and stamps are from Stampington's Shore Cliff Trim.

I've also finished these ATC's for a swap with Melinda and Robyn. Our colour theme this month is purple.

Had He Not...

I'm really enjoying the Make A Moo Or Two challenges each week. The theme for this week is Text. It's such a fun way to use the little bits 'n pieces I always have lying around the place, but can't bear to throw away.

The stamp is by Collections and the image is ARTchix Studio.

Spring!

Here's my Moo for this weeks theme 'Spring' at Make A Moo Or Two.

Over in my part of the world we are beginning to experience the coolness of Autumn, but I'm sure before I know it, it will be Spring again.

It's a quick post, I'm off to the Easter markets at Denmark with some friends.

May you have a blessed and safe Easter!

My First 'Make A Moo Or Two' (Or Three)!

Okay, so I now realise that I didn't have a full appreciation of moo cards, until I set about making some of my own, and read the dimensions (and re-read and re-read)! I did wonder if I would be able to work on such a small scale, so these were a little experimental! The current theme for 'Make A Moo Or Two' is 'Children'. Somehow I think I will be making more of these in the future and I'll thank Jo Capper Sandon for getting me hooked.

Obviously the pics are of Sean Alexander and paper is Daisy D's - Saltwater Taffy

I also now have an even greater appreciation for the wonderful inchie art works I've been seeing lately. Check out some of Debbi Baker's inchies. I think they're incredible!!!
