The Rose - Layers of Color
'The Rose'
I was reminded of this song earlier in the week by my friend (and principal), Mim. She had the great priviledge of recently hearing Marina Prior (a favourite Australian singer of mine) perform, 'The Rose', live! As I started thinking about the Layers of Color challenge for the week, roses... I started to gathered bits that were close at hand and came up with this. There is a little stamping down the right hand edge.
'When the nights have been too lonely,
And the road has been too long.
And you think that love is only,
For the lucky and the strong.
Just remember in the winter,
Far beneath the bitter snow.
Lies the seed that with the sun's love,
In the spring,
Becomes the rose.'
Recorded by Bette Midler in 1979

What a beautiful rose! Your fabric collage is gorgeous with the lace and buttons and the stamps. I always liked Bette Midler.
