Destination & Discovery
Stamping & Papercraft Vol 13 No 9 'Destination & Discovery'
I'm finding it hard to make creative time at the moment, so I thought I'd share another Stamping & Papercraft piece. I love this collage stamp by Crafty Individuals and have used it numerous times.
I'm a bit behind in my blog reading and hope to catch up with everyone over the weekend!

Home
Hi everyone, I got back from Perth last night. It was a pretty busy time. I caught up with some good friends/family along the way, Shaz & Wayne and Jen & Darryn. Thanks for the warm and welcoming accommodation guys. I was also really blessed to spend time with Simon & Karli (Oliver's parents) and the adorable little man himself, Oliver.
I don't feel that it's my place, at this point, to go into too many details, but he is undergoing chemo treatment at the moment. They have been living at the hospital for over two weeks and are pretty tired. I'm amazed at S&K's strength and courage, but it is quite a burden to bear and very tough for them to see this gorgeous little boy in pain. Please keep upholding them in prayer.

In the post...
Oh, look at the lovely parcel of goodies I received yesterday from Chris Millar. I was very blessed to win her recent giveaway!!! Thanks so much Chris!!!!! It's so nice to have new treasures to play with.
I'm off to the big smoke for nearly a week... not sure if I'll be blogging...
I am hoping to have some huggles with Oliver, if he'll let me.

A request...
No pictures today, but a request for those who do, to pray for a sweet little fellow, Oliver (the son of a good friend of mine). He's only 8 months old and has just been diagnosed with cancer. I think he's commencing chemo treatment this week.

Layers of Color: Berries
The challenge at Layers of Color this week is 'Berries'. I love this Tin Can Mail raspberry alphabet stamp. The butterfly is Oxford Impressions and it's all combined with gorgeous paper from Daisy D's. A touch of fabric (can't help myself) and lace too!
I made it for a friend's birthday - can't say who, just yet!
It's been a wet and stormy couple of days in my part of the world. We lost power for most of yesterday, hence I didn't get to blog. Hope you're warm and cosy in your part of the world.

'Memories'
Not the best picture, not enough daylight here today! This is the piece I had published in a gallery section of Sew Somerset Summer 2008. It's called 'Memories' and was made for my brother and SIL's 2nd wedding anniversay. I was so excited when I found out it was going to be published! I still can't quite believe it's in there.

This is one of my more current published projects (a favourite of mine), published last month. I *love* Daisy D's papers and the ARTchix images are so sweet!
Happy birthday, Trevlyn!
May your day be blessed with faith, hope and love!!!

ATC's Red
These are heading to Melinda and Robyn for this month's ATC swap - the theme is 'red'. Stamped images are from Stampington and Hero Arts.
I had a lovely visit from Sean & Graeme today. Sean and I played for a bit, I even managed to get him to have a nap.
I heading back to volleyball tonight, having not played for five weeks, because of the flu. I'm not feeling to confident! Hopefully my team members will be gentle with me.

Here's the DIRT!
I'm trying to post every day this week... a little challenge I've set myself. I did want to make it an arty post each time, but today I've been working on what will hopefully be a magazine project, so there's nothing arty to show, yet! Maybe tomorrow!
My sister-in-law emailed these to me today and I just had to share them.
Sean had been playing happily on the lawn... but then discovered the garden bed! What a cheeky fella! All good for the immune system and lots of fun too!

Joy Is The Flag...
I've been hoping to participate in the Layers Of Color challenges since their onset and have finally managed to complete something! The current theme is 'FLAGS'. I've created my own paper flag, flown high from Hampton Court by Stampington and Hero Arts.
So whilst creating this piece, I've had the song, 'Joy Is The Flag Flown High' going around and around and around my head - been singing it too! (I can finally sing again after 4 weeks of suffering with the flu.)
Footnote: It appears this song may not be as well known as I thought, so I thought I'd write a few more lyrics...
Joy is the flag flown high in the castle of my heart,
for the King is in residence there.
Let it fly in the sky,
Let the whole world know,
That the King is in residence there!
This song helps me to reflect upon the joy (and peace, forgiveness etc) that has come to reside in my heart, because of the grace of God, demonstrated through Christ's love for me.

Boo Hoo...
Sorry, but I'm still stuck on the topic of school reports. And I haven't any new artwork to share... yet!
There was a glitch in our computer system at school (we are in the process of a computer roll over) and most of my reports were partially lost and resaved incorrectly!!! It's nobody's fault, just one of those things, but I couldn't believe it! So now I have to rewrite them, tomorrow!!! Thankfully, I had printed a hard copy of each for proof reading, so it will just be a process of copying comments etc from these. And EXTRA thankfully, my dear principal has provided my class with a relief teacher, so that I can solely concentrate on reports.
Do I sound cool, calm and collected about it? Well I will admit to having had a slight melt down this afternoon, but I'm just blaming the 'hormonies'! I'm sooooo glad that I realised what had happened before they all were all sent home! Now, I'm off to buy a really big block of chocolate!!!
How was your day?

Procrastination and Birthdays
So I'm at the tail end of writing these reports... if anyone had to write a report about me tonight it could be summed up with the words...
'Is easily distracted' or 'Finds it difficult to keep their mind on the task at hand'!!!
So my mind's been drifting... to worries, to hopes, to who knows what??! Oh, and I've been doing more than my fair share of blog surfing (just keeping up-to-date)...
Anyway, one of my thoughts has been about this...
I'm celebrating??? a rather big birthday later in the year and am uncertain how I would like to celebrate??? (or bury my head in the sand and deny it's happening). Yes, I know it's silly, it's only a date and a number, but nonetheless...
So have you got any fun/unique/non embarrassing ideas on how to celebrate or have a party? I just seem to by tying myself in a knot about what I should do about it... right now my number one plan is to run away to an undisclosed destination (a nice one) and let it just pass by.
NOTE TO FRIENDS: Please, no surprise parties! (I never thought I was a control freak, but maybe I am - hehe.)
You know what? I'm heading back to those reports... heaps easier than dealing with birthdays!
Speaking of birthdays... HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow, my dear friend El! Hope you have a most fabulous day - full of blessings and surprises! xox PS I'm looking forward to seeing those sketches on Friday! ;-)
'Music' ATC's
'Music'ATC's by Shelley, Trish and myself from our April swap. It might be hard for you to make it out, but Trish's ATC has a photo that she took at the U2 concert she went to... I was a little bit green with envy over that!
All rubber on mine is by Paperbag Studios.
